One Tribe, the first AWP Novel Award Winner published with New Issues, has won the 2007 Global Filipino Literary Award for Fiction. One Tribe will be submitted to the Library of Congress and will receive a special catalog number for inclusion in the Global Filipino Literary Awards Collection housed permanently in the Library's Asian Reading Room. Even more exciting, the book's author, M. Evelina Galang, was named one of the 100 most influential Filipina Women in the US by Filipina Women's Network and was honored at the Filipina Summit (www.ffwn.org) in Washington D.C. where she read from One Tribe at the Library of Congress.
