Other Titles by New Issues Poets

Looking for last-minute gifts or a few suggestions for your own bookshelf? Here is a short list of titles, published through other great presses, written by New Issues poets. Enjoy!

* Novel Pictorial Noise by Noah Eli Gordon, author of the Green Rose Prize winner A Fiddle Pulled from the Throat of a Sparrow.
* The River is Rising by Patricia Jabbeh Wesley, author of Before the Palm Could Bloom: Poems of Africa, published by New Issues back in 1998.
* Pain Fantasy by Jason Bredle. Jason's first book, Standing in Line for the Beast was chosen by Barbara Hamby to receive the 2006 New Issues Poetry Prize.
* Notes for My Body Double by Paul Guest won the Prairie Schooner Prize in Poetry. His first book, The Resurrection of the Body and the Ruin of the World was chosen by Campbell McGrath to receive the 2002 New Issues Poetry Prize.
* Father, Tell Me I Have Not Aged by Russell Thorburn, author of the New Issues title Approximate Desire.
* Dog Girl by Heidi Lynn Staples. Heidi's book Guess Can Gallop was chosen by Brenda Hillman to receive the 2003 New Issues Poetry Prize.
* The Happiness Experiment by Lisa Fishman. Lisa's book The Deep Heart's Core is a Suitcase was one of our very first publications back in 1996.

Elaine Sexton on Poetry Daily

Elaine Sexton's poem "The Horse in Her" was featured Wednesday, December 19, on the Poetry Daily website. The poem, originally published in New Letters, will appear in Elaine's new book, Causeway, due out from New Issues March 1, 2008.

Wayne Miller and Moikom Zeqo Celebrate a New Translation with DC Reading

We're always thrilled when we see New Issues authors getting together to do something in the literary world. Sandra Beasley, author of the forthcoming and award-winning Theories of Falling hosted Wayne Miller and Moikom Zeqo at her Washington DC apartment. Wayne, author of Only the Senses Sleep, translated Zeqo's work for I Don't Believe in Ghosts, recently published by BOA Editions. For more about the reading, check out Beasley's blog.
